Elizabeth Shadigian, MD, FACOG, NCMP

Elizabeth is an obstetrician-gynecologist, consultant, educator, and researcher specializing in the health, safety and well-being of women. Elizabeth received her medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Purdue University. She has been board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology since 1996 and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She is also a Certified North American Menopause Society Menopause Practitioner. Elizabeth has been on the faculty of the University of Michigan Medical School since 1994 and for 12 years provided clinical care to women at the University of Michigan Health System. She is writing her first book and is co-founder and Matriarch of the Battered Women and Children’s Memorial Garden.

Marnie is an integrative psychiatrist who is dedicated to helping others recover and enhance their wellness on every level of health – including body, mind, spirit and community. She is board-certified in psychiatry and integrative holistic medicine. She received her medical degree in 2003 from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, MA and completed her psychiatry residency at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ. She has practiced integrative psychiatry in diverse settings including hospitals, the Veterans Health Administration system and in private outpatient practice.

Elise graduated from the Ann Arbor Institute of Massage Therapy in 2015 with certifications in therapeutic massage, neuromuscular therapy, and myofascial release. Excited by the growing integration and recognition of massage in health care, she is passionate about helping clients who face chronic illness or pain, particularly headaches. She also holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan in political science, where she studied political systems and systemic oppression. She uses all of her skill sets to contribute to client care at WomanSafeHealth.

Eril is a graduate of the Ann Arbor Institute of Massage Therapy and the Polarity Center. She has been practicing therapeutic massage for more than ten years and integrates Polarity work to create an exceptionally healing experience for her clients. Polarity Therapy uses energy techniques to balance the body and mind. Eril also specializes in recovery from trauma, and pregnancy and infant massage.

Leah is a Certified Holistic Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in Manhattan, NY, and holds a BA in Complementary and Alternative Health from Ashford University.  She is a Hatha Yoga Instructor/RYT through Yoga Alliance, a Reiki practitioner and is certified in Raw Food preparation. Her passion for health and wellness began many years ago as an owner of a successful fitness franchise where she found a true passion for helping others: body, mind and soul. Leah is an avid lover of animals and nature.

Claire received her Bachelor of Arts degree in biochemistry with a minor in psychology in 2015 from Earlham College. She is a MD candidate at the University of Michigan Medical School, matriculating in August 2016.

Emma Greene, CMT is a doula and massage therapist, who joined WomanSafeHealth in August, 2013. She has a background in business, childhood development and trauma recovery. She works at WomanSafeHealth as the Practice WoManager, woman advocate and EMR Specialist.


Kristin Whitfield, L Ac, Dipl OM, MAOM

Services: Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine

Kristin graduated from Cornell University with a B.A. and from the New England School of Acupuncture with a Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She is a Registered (Michigan) and Licensed (Massachusetts) Acupuncturist and is a National Board Certified (NCCAOM) Diplomate in Oriental Medicine. She practiced on Cape Cod for 12 years and established a free clinic providing treatment for traumatized veterans and their families. Kristin's passion is helping each person on her pathway to physical and emotional health, using TCM and microlight therapy, which offers a needle free approach to acupuncture and facial rejuvenation.

Carisa Wilder is a psychotherapist and Ayurvedic practitioner who earned her Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work from San Francisco State University. She is bilingual in Spanish and English, licensed in the state of Michigan and has extensive training in Child Welfare/Trauma and therapeutic social work. Carisa completed a clinical internship with an emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and is certified in Mindfulness-Based Eating Awareness Training. She is an Ayurvedic Practitioner through New World Ayurveda and is registered with the National Ayurvedic Medical Association. Carisa combines her years of experience and education to provide holistic care which honors the mind-body connection and empowers girls and women to achieve emotional, physical and spiritual wellness in their lives.
