Medical Empowerment ProgramOur Medical Empowerment program consists of four components, each of which empowers women to face health challenges and navigate medical settings with greater confidence, effectiveness and ease.
Medical Empowerment Workshop Tuesday, May 18, 2010 6pm-9pm This three-hour introductory class offers women a holistic and multi-faceted approach to developing medical empowerment resources, skills and techniques. Topics covered include: communicating with caregivers, developing support systems, mind-body approaches to anxiety reduction, and strategies for informed decision-making. Medical Empowerment Group A drop-in support group for women who are facing medical challenges Wednesdays from 12:00 pm-1:00pm
Private Medical Empowerment Sessions Sessions are tailored to meet your individual needs with a combination of information, counseling and skill building. A support person of your choice is welcome to join you for your medical empowerment session.
A Woman Advocate can accompany you to medical visits and be an empowering member of your healthcare team. If you have had a new diagnosis of an illness, would like more emotional support at a long or short visit, or if your usual support person is unable to be present, call to find out the availability and skills of a WomanSafeHealth Woman Advocate.
