Elizabeth Shadigian, MD

na

Elizabeth is an obstetrician-gynecologist, consultant, educator, and researcher specializing in the health, safety and well-being of women. Elizabeth received her medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and her bachelor of science in chemistry from Purdue University. She has been board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology since 1996 and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Elizabeth has been on the faculty of the University of Michigan Medical School since 1994 and for 12 years provided clinical care to women at the U of M Health System. She is writing her first book and is founder and Matriarch of the Battered Women and Children’s Memorial Garden.

 

Sierra Hillebrand, MA

Sierra is a psychotherapist accepting clients through WomanSafeHealth beginning in January, 2008. Sierra holds a master of arts in humanistic and clinical psychology from the Center for Humanistic Studies and a bachelor of arts in women’s studies from the University of Michigan. She is currently enrolled as a Ph.D student in clinical psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute. Sierra has also provided clinical services to women and their families as a midwife, doula and childbirth educator beginning in 1997.

 

Emily Nacy, BS

Emily Nacy graduated from the University of Michigan in May 2009 with a double major in Women’s Studies and Biological Anthropology. She plans to attend medical school in the near future. Her interests in medicine include maternal and child healthcare, with a focus on gender and health. She is also a Spanish-speaker who volunteers in South America.


Tracey Barr, RN

Tracey attended Washtenaw Community College and received her registered nursing degree from Schoolcraft College. Tracey is a labor and delivery nurse and focuses on high-risk maternal health care, informed consent and healthcare ethics. She works as a travel nurse throughout the country and as a staff nurse at Henry Ford Hospital- West Bloomfield.


Victoria L. Evans, RN

na

Victoria received her BA in Journalism from Michigan State University and her registered nursing degree from Washtenaw Community College. Her extensive travel and life abroad with her family has given her a unique cultural perspective on healthcare. She has been an active advocate for women, mothers and older adults since her young adult years, working with non-profit groups around the country.
