Elizabeth Shadigian, MD, FACOG, NCMP
Elizabeth is an obstetrician-gynecologist, consultant, educator, and researcher specializing in the health, safety and well-being of women. Elizabeth received her medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and her bachelor of science in chemistry from Purdue University.
She is a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1996 and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Elizabeth was on the faculty of the University of Michigan Medical School from 1994 until 2009 and for 12 years provided clinical care to women through the University of Michigan Health System. She founded WomanSafeHealth (her Empowering WomanCare and Gynecology private medical practice) and WomanSafeHealth Consulting in 2007. She is the author of, WomanSafeHealth: The Antidote to Status Quo Health Care, and is co-founder and Matriarch of the Battered Women and Children’s Memorial Garden.

WomanSafeHealth Consulting – Suturing Tutorial
One-on-one or up to 4 practitioners
Basic and advanced suturing for perineal repairs after childbirth
Dr. Shadigian can teach you individually or you may get a group together of up to four practitioners to come to our office at 4343 Concourse Drive, Suite 360, Ann Arbor Michigan. Alternatively, Dr. Shadigian can come to you.
Each practitioner provides their own pieces of chicken with skin (usually three pieces, fresh or other such meat) as the practice media. Dr. Shadigian will provide all the instruments and suture material included with the fee. The group is small to allow for hands on, one on one instruction.
Each session can be booked for 1-3 hours, a partial payment of one hour is required at the time of scheduling. The fee is $400 per hour for the instruction. If you would like Dr. Shadigian to come to your site, there is an additional charge of $150 per hour travel time.
If you would let Dr. Shadigian know exactly what type of repairs/suturing you would like to focus on, instruction can be tailored to your group.
Practitioners should come 15 minutes early to use the bathroom and finalize the financial transactions. Checks can be made out to WomanSafeHealth Consulting, LLC. We also accept credit cards but prefer checks or cash. Refreshments are available at the office.
